The University of North Georgia announces degrees and certificates awarded for the summer 2017 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises held July 29 at the university.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for summer 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Troy University is pleased to recognize new students who have completed IMPACT orientation and enrolled in classes for the Fall 2017 semester.

On July 7, Oglethorpe welcomed 114 incoming students for the second summer orientation, known as a MAP (Making a Petrel) Day. The first-year students enrolled in their fall semester classes and received their official Petrel Pass student IDs.

The College of Arts and Sciences at Valdosta State University recently recognized 67 pure and applied sciences, humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary programs students for outstanding achievement during the 2016-2017 academic year.

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes more than 1,300 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the spring 2017 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The Georgia Southern University Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) presented its annual undergraduate student exhibition, Form & Content, in the Center for Art & Theatre's University Gallery, March 30 - April 7. The exhibition honors the rigorous work of students in art foundations courses, such as Drawing I, Drawing II, 2D Design, and 3D Design. Art foundations courses provide students with the fundamentals of art and create a solid infrastructure that is needed for a career in fine arts. Form & Content was juried by national artist and University of South Carolina Professor of Sculpture Naomi Faulk. More than 500 gifted musicians and auxiliary were selected for Jacksonville State University's prestigious band program, the Marching Southerners, in Fall 2016.
